Chapter 1067 Young Eagle Activities
Attention Chapter 1067
Young Eagle Pilots and Ground personnel 2005 YE schedule!
Young Eagles March 12th, 2005 in Naples saw 26 youngsters fly. Thanks to J.D. Horn, Jim Quigley and Ted Brousseau for flying and Bob Read, Dale Savage and Doug Mullen on the ground. Click on Young Eagles above for other 2005 dates.
June 12th Young Eagles Day a success. Despite smoke coming out of Jim Quigley's black boxes we flew 45 smiling Young Eagles. This was done with only 1 1/2 aircraft (after losing Jim after he flew 6 YEs) and the utmost cooperation by all concerned. Ruth Holzem (a student pilot and mother of earlier YEs) and Travis Abbott (a veteran YE and ground assistant) ran the registration and kept things organized. The parents were understanding, the weather was perfect and we ran a non-stop barnstorming operation from 9 AM until the last ride ended at 1:30. J.D. Horn was chief ground support and furnished his 172. Pilots were Doug Mullen, Mike Lamb, Jim Quigley and Ted Brousseau (in the Pietenpol which qualifies as 1/2 of an aircraft in size but more than a whole aircraft in pleasure). Well done.
